I like to record guitar tracks and edit them in Cubase. There are many ways to improve the sound of guitars with audio software. Lets discover some of the ways that audio processing can help upgrade our track and see whats good about it.
Audio Warp

This is very good because it can snap the guitar to a grid and give it perfect timing. It is quite quick to do after a while, 4 guitar tracks can take about 10 minutes to quantise. Audio Warp can save us a lot of manual work and it can also assure us that the tracks are good.
Equaliser | Guitar Tracks

There are many equalisers that we can place on these guitar tracks. We can upgrade the sound with an equaliser and we can use different equalisers project to project. We can also use the equalisers to boost or lower volume levels for a good mix.
Saturation

Saturation can give the track more colour and drive. There are great saturators in Cubase and Fab Filter also has great saturators. A lot of saturation can sound like overdrive from a guitar amplifier.
Gate | Guitar Tracks

Its always good to put gates on audio tracks to filter out any mechanical noises.
Compressor

Compression is another good process to help us get a great mix. Its also good for sound design and to help us shape the sound. Compressors have their own sound and character. It is good to have a collection of compressors for a variety of situations.
Send FX

I like to send all 3 guitar tracks to an effects channel with a compressor. The guitars are louder in the mix. Sometimes I put a reverb before the compressor too. I might also send the lead guitar to another effects channel to get that even louder and more clear too.
