We have finished our project and it sounds great. We’ve checked that all the notes are in place, processed the guitar blocks and added velocity variance to midis. Now lets add tags to the track so we can publish it on Beatstars and other places.
Tag Choice
We’ve got a number on tags in the documents folder. Some for Major key tracks, some for Minor key tracks and one to promote the website. So lets see what key our track is in and then add one of those. The website tag sounds a bit Minor so lets only add that to the Minor key tracks.
Track Placement | Tags
The tag is not just to announce who we are. We can use it to signal a change in the track. For example we can add it a beat before the first verse. We can also add it a beat before the outro. And we can add it before an automated effects section.
Effects | Tags
Our tags have already had pitch shift applied to them. The higher pitch makes them clearer in the mix. Because our tracks have a lot of low frequencies.
Since it is a voice we should add VocalChain to it. VocalChain will take care of more of the processing. We can also add extra plugins that we are familiar with. Ping Pong Delay is good because it will bounce the tag left and right. Bitcrusher can make the voice sound robotic.
Exports with tag
We’ll only want to include the tag on files meant for streaming services. The MP3 and WAV Master file. The MP3 is for Beatstars and WAV Master is for Distrokid. We need to export the Mix Wav without the tag. We also leave the tag out of the trackout packages but it could go in there.
