We’re going away for a while and we can bring the laptop to make tracks on. We’ll need to use less computer power for the projects so that the project won’t jump. There are many ways to save cpu resources and using stock effects only is one of the most effective ways. So lets look at stock effects and talk about whats good about them.
Equalisers
We have a variety good of cubase equalisers to choose from. There are the 2 new EP1A and EM5 Equalisers. There is the very good Frequency EQ and many others. Frequency is the best equaliser and we can use it on all types of tracks. We can get a clear mix with it because its a dynamic eq and sidechain compatible.
Compressors | Stock Effects
The cubase compressors are very good too. We have many to choose from for all sorts of situations. After we use them for a while we might discover that they’re the best and keep using them once we’re back from the trip. Ultra Shaper is the newest compressor on there and its one of the best compressors.
Modulation | Stock Effects
We have a full range of basic modulation effects. Flanger, chorus, phaser and so on. There are also stock plugins that combine effects together like FX Modulator. These effects sound great and we can tweak the settings to get create some amazing sounds with our material.
Reverbs and Delays
There are so many great reverbs and delays we can add to our tracks. The roomworks reverbs sound quite standard. Reverence has a lot of character and Revelation emulates real reverbs. There are also a number of delay plugins to try out. The newest and most advanced delay is Multitap Delay. It can add effects to the delays and has advanced delay settings.
