There are so many good ways to start the track. Now that we’ve recorded all of the material track its time to make the playlist. We can select all the blocks and move them to the right to make space for the intro. Now lets decide which tracks we want to be in the intro. So lets discover the 5 best intros and talk about whats great about them.
5. Percussion | Intros
We have a few percussion instruments on the track. Theres processing on each of them and we’ve sent them to a percussion bus. And they have more processing in the percussion bus, We balanced the compression and dynamics nicely so lets put this on the intro.
4. Extra Instruments
Our extra instruments might be the synthesizers or the marimbas and vibraphones. We used the new modulators in Cubase to create some really good effects with the extra instruments that move throughout the song. So this will be a great intro too.
3. Piano | Intros
If we have a piano on the track it can be a good intro. The piano covers all frequency bands and sounds great. We have a lot of piano vsts available so we can switch pianos at any time.
2. Sub, Kick and Hats
We have a good group of frequencies here, the low range and high range. This combination works well on a lot of tracks. We can hear the pumping effect of the side chain on the kick and sub. So after this intro we can put the snare tracks on and that’ll be the complete kit.
1. Guitar
We spent the most time and effort recording these tracks so lets put them first. Rhythm guitar, supporting rhythm guitar and lead guitar. Lets decide whether we’ll put all tracks on the intro or some sort of variation. The guitars sound great, we’ve mixed them with nice effects and processed them in the guitar group channel.
