It is good to add effects to drum tracks and all drums in the drum group. Lately I’ve been adding more effects to the drums because I realised that it sounded great. Lets look at the top 5 Drum FX and talk about whats good about them.
5. Roomworks SE
Sometimes it is great to add reverb to drum tracks because it can give them some extra character. In some cases I might add reverb to hi-hats and snares. Roomworks SE is a great choice for this reverb because it has a great sound on all sorts of tracks.
4. Mod Machine
There are many great delay effects in mod machine and it can also add other great effects on top of the delay too. It can produce simple delays and great heavily modulated delays. I discovered this effect just recently and I think that its another amazing delay plugin.
3. Bitcrusher
This can change the sound of a track completely and add a lot of character to it. Its can make tracks sound really robotic and add distortion to them. Sometimes I add this to the kick drum to give it more power in the mix. Its easy to set up and it sounds great
2. Valley People Dynamite Slam | Drum FX
This plugin is great on the drum bus because it can make the track super punchy and compressed. It sounds very different to other compressors and its really good. Its great as the last FX on the chain because it can help balance the volume level.
1. Quadrafuzz | Drum FX
The distortion on this sounds great on a variety of tracks especially kick drums and snares. It can apply effects to each eq band separately and it has a great variety of options. It definitely adds a lot of character to the tracks and it can add great delay effects as well as the distortion.
