All chords are good but If we need to choose the best lets get the guitar and midi keyboard to find them. We can use a guitar capo to transpose the chords on guitar and cubase to transpose the chords on the midi controller. Lets look at the best guitar chords and talk about why they’re great.
๐5. E Minor๐ | Guitar Chords

Thats a great chord because we can play E Minor pentatonic with the open notes along with it. The chord also has a lot of open notes and we can quicky go to E minor 7 by just releasing the D string. Also because the strings are open we can hit pitch harmonics easily and get some nice sounds.
๐4. D Minor 7๐

That sounds great and its easy to start making a new track with it. Its best off the A string and we can jump to the second and third chords on the E string. There are many rhythms we can make with D Minor 7, they sound great with the drums and basses.
๐๏ธ3. F Major๐๏ธ

This is our first barre chord and we need this with our open chords. We can go to F Major to take our track somewhere new in an extra part.
๐2. A Minor๐

Starting with this chord we can easily go to D Minor or E Minor straight away. Am7 to Em7 or Dm7 is a great alternative too. A Minor is great because its in the middle of the fretboard and there are good options on both sides.
๐1. C Major๐ | Guitar Chords

There is so much we can do with C Major, especially on the midi controller. The C major scale is good straight away because it has no sharps. So we can get straight to work on the lead melody and transpose it later if we want. On guitar we have so many great options for a C Major chord sequence because its close to all the other open chords.
