I like to add reverb to tracks to give them extra character and more presence in the mix. There are many great reverbs both in cubase and outside. So lets discover the top 5 reverbs of 2025 and talk about whats good about them.
5. Goldplate
It has some really interesting sounds and settings. Theres a compressor built in so we can get it to a good level. It has interesting information in the goldplate info box. It can produce gold or silver reverb and it can blend them together. I like to add this directly to tracks and then freeze them to free the cpu.
4. Valhalla Vintage Verb
This sounds very different to other reverbs and has a lot of character. There are many settings and it can produce many different sounds. There are also many presets that show what the reverb can do and it has reverbs from the 1970s, 1980s and now.
3. Roomworks | Reverb
This is another amazing reverb in Cubase and it has 2 versions, Roomworks and Roomworks SE. Roomworks SE is a compact version of Roomworks that can also be great in many situations. Roomworks has a lot of settings and can sound good on a variety of material.
2. Reverence | Reverb
This is a great sounding reverb in Cubase and it is an impulse response reverb. There are lots of great presets like the church and chapel presets. Sometimes I send my guitars to the effect because it gives them a more natural sound. Its a realistic sounding reverb.
1. Pro-R 2
This is quite different to the reverbs in Cubase. I like to add a small amount of this to hi hats and snares because it adds some ambience. It has a lot of presets for a lot of instruments and its also really good like the other fab filter plugins.
