Shortcuts really speedup the workflow in Cubase and help keep the focus on creativity. We can customize our shortcuts by clicking edit and then key commands. Lets discover the 5 best shortcuts and talk about the good things about them.
Export Mixdown | K

This will save us clicking 2 things which would take about 5 seconds. We can get the mixdown by pressing k to finish the work once its mastered. I use this shortcut very often and it is very good. This is a custom shortcut that I set up.
Duplicate | Ctrl + D

This keyboard shortcut can duplicate tracks and notes. Its faster than copying and pasting data. Another good way to duplicate tracks is to move the mouse to the track and then right it from the diamond that appears on the right. Although the zoom needs to be quite close for the diamond to appear.
Save | Ctrl + S

This is one of my most used shortcuts because it can potentially save 10+ minutes of work. I set the autosave to 15 minutes but I like to save after any progress on the project.
Note Chops | Scissors Tool, Alt + Click

With this we can quickly completely chop a note to whatever the grid value is. This is great for hi-hats, kick drums and snares. In the midi edit window if we switch to the scissors tool, go to the note, hold alt and click it will chop the note. This is the best shortcut because it saves the most time.
Silence | Shift + Space | Cubase Shortcuts

I use this on guitar and bass guitar tracks to create smooth endings. I highlight part of the recording and then press shift + space to add the silence.
Fade Out | Alt + F | Cubase Shortcuts

I like to add this after the silence to make the endings even smoother. I usually use free warp to make the last notes last longer before applying this too.
