There are many great limiters so we can get our tracks to sound how we want them to. Some are exclusive to Cubase and others are compatible with all audio workstations. So lets discover the best limiters and see whats great about them.
Maximizer | Limiters

This is different from other limiters because it has an optimise wheel. This adds gain to the signal. When we enable modern mode it enables the recover and release wheels. The sound is very good and it is a great choice for the final limiter.
Brickwall Limiter

Thats great as the first plugin on our mix bus. If we need to clip the dynamics of our mix. We can use it with the loudness ratio meter in supervision to get the right PSR value for our project. If we clip less than 3db of peaks it doesn’t change the sound but it cleans the mix nicely.
Raiser | Limiters

Thats a bit like the brickwall limiter except we can use it to add gain. It has more release options than the maximizer and a screen to show the limiting in real time. There is no blend option on this so the mix is always 100%. I’ve used this on a couple of projects and its another great choice for the final limiter.
Invisible Limiter

This is really good if we want to boost the track really loud. Because it has a special way of dealing with heavy clipping and making it sound good. I used this to drive some tracks really loud to about -7 LUFS and it didn’t distort the track too much.
Waves L4 Ultramaximizer

Thats great because it has a delta option. So we can just check the limiting and hear whats clipped out. We also have upward compression which is another good thing to test. We can roll off stereo link so that it can clip each stereo channel independently. And it has different mode we can test out.
