Sometimes I like to add percussion to my tracks and I’ve used many percussion instruments. Its good because it could be the missing element that completes a track or part of an intro. Lets look at the best percussion and talk about why they’re good.
5. Samsara Tabla

I really liked working with this instrument but it is VST and I only work with VST3 nowadays. Again it has a really nice selection of sounds. Its quite quiet so its good to add some harmonics to it with effects. This also sounds really good with ping pong delay on the fast 16th note setting.
4. Sampler Track

Percussion samples can be good sound effects on tracks. We can search the sample pack with media bay and find another sound we might want for the track. Its good because there are many ways to alter the sound with the sampler track and we can play the sample live, at any pitch.
3. Jungle Loops

Jungle Loops is a great collection of sounds and patterns that can sound great on tracks. It plays the loop when the key is active and it says what time signature it is while the loop is playing. I’ve used this on many many tracks, for years. Its fun to use and sounds great with the mod wheel.
2. EZ Drummer | Latin Percussion

EZ Drummer has a great library of percussion midis and it has very good sounding drums. Its a really nice system to work with and there are many ways to use it. So the choice is whether to program the midi or select patterns from the midi library.
1. Little Epic Percussion

I like the sounds on this and placement of the sounds across the keyboard. Theres a different style of sound for every octave and they can enhance the track. Its quite a dynamic instrument so sometimes its good with compression to get a nice level.
